My trip to Toronto - last few days

Day 6

Saturday was one of my favourite days whilst staying in Toronto . Started the day by visiting the renowned St Lawrence Market .

This place was so cool with foods from all around the globe as well as locally produced . Canadians eat a lot of crispy bacon , being used to back bacon it was nice to try a canadian specialty Peameal bacon.

After breakfast we headed down Sherbourne as we were going to visit the Aquarium

I just had to get myself a souvenir so what better than heading to the Maple Leafs store for this Lapul Jersey .

Absolutely loved my afternoon at Ripleys Aquarium , it has one of the largest underwater tunnels in the world and to see so many cool fish and sharks is something I will never forget.

It's definitely a place I would recommend visiting if you're ever In toronto

After a busy afternoon we headed back to the apartment where I was let into a surprise that had been arranged for me .

I would be going for dinner with two Michelin star chefs from Canada's masterchef. Claudio Aprile and Alvin Yeung. This was really exciting for me and was so lovely of them to treat me to dinner . The restaurant Cluny is located in the distillery which is a cool area with shops bars and restaurants .

Due to the company I held we were treated like royalty . Alvin ordered every starter on the menu for us all to share . I'm usually a picky eater but not to let everyone down I tried almost everything.

For my main course I decided to play it safe and order the same as Alvin afterall a chef would know best.

This was quite possibly some of the best lamb I had ever tasted in my life . So definitely made the right choice .

For dessert we were treated to what I can only describe as a display rather than our own individual . Very sweet and delicious

And I do love Macaroons :).

After dinner and I was mocked for my drink of choice (southern comfort , lemonade and fresh lime) we decided to carry on the evening and go to a bar . Claudio was driving and I got to go in his brandnew Range Rover Supercharger which is now going on my "cars I want to own" list

We headed down to the very swanky Montage in Yorkville . I had a really great evening laughing and meeting some really interesting people, made some friends forever.

Day 7

Best hangover cure??? some greasy food .

Sunday morning we headed to the Toronto Food Truck convention by the lake . Food trucks isn't really a thing in the uk but in Canada it's serious business

I was starting to get a bit sad as I knew my trip was coming to an end  . After a morning at the convention I was taken to the beach. It's amazing that 5 minutes out of the busy streets of downtown Toronto you can be on a beach.

Had such an amazing last afternoon

It really was one of the best experiences of my life . Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and made so many new friends. I was upset to be leaving . I will definitely be heading back over soon tho :) .

Sorry it's took so long to finish these blogs , I have been super busy . But hope you enjoy sharing some of my experiences .

My trip to Toronto - Day 5

Day 5

So after copious amounts of alcohol the night beforeI woke up feeling surprisingly fresh. Time to see some more of the amazing city .

Heading down to Yonge-Dundas street , this area is called Torontos Times Square , having been both I wouldn't quite say they're on the same level but was still really good . (Don't worry Canadians , toronto has lots of better things than New York ) .

After grabbing a coffee we headed to the Eaton Centre one of the largest malls around. It was the opening launch day for the iPhone 6 which meant the mall was absolutely crazy , people had been queuing for days to be first in line to get the new phone . Me personally I could wait .

Got to see lots of shops we don't have in the uk. Really loved Scotch & Soda .

Just outside the Eaton Centre amongst all the new buildings is old city hall. Really loved the architecture on this building, it's really impressive .

Outside is a war memorial remembering all those who gave their lives fighting for their country.

From here just a short walk Is Queen West another street full of quirky shops and some hidden gems which I never would of found without my amazing tour guide .

Sadly the new J.Lindeberg flagship store wasn't open yet, which anyone who follows my instagram will know was a huge disappointment for me . Maybe on my next trip I'll get to visit .

After grabbing lunch at a Mexican restaurant we headed over to Spadina

Another area I never would have found was Kensington market . This is a very famous area In Toronto full of houses that have been turned into shop fronts . Really loved walking around this area. I couldn't help taking loads of photos .

My final stop of the afternoon was Toms Place . If you're male and ever in Toronto this is a place you just have to visit . Hidden amongst all these houses it is the most amazing suit shop I've ever been. Over two floors it is just rail after rail of suits from all designers , I'm definitely going back here on my next visit to have a suit tailored and of course they stock my favourite brand J.Lindeberg.

After a busy afternoon shopping it was back to the apartment I was now staying at for a party with the Rogers Team, everyone really made me feel so welcome and were fantastic tour guides I feel blessed to have met them all and got to share my experience with them all.

Thanks for reading , I will try to blog more often my life is just so crazy at the movement . My next blog I will write about the last few days and will try and get it up soon . Some exciting stuff happened including going for dinner with Canada's masterchefs Claudio and Alvin so keep an eye out.

My trip to Toronto - Niagara

DAY 3

For those of you who read my last blog I talked about my first two days in toronto . The fun didn't stop there, day three and four were just as fun .

Started the with a good breakfast , I ate so much whilst I was here . I had these chocolate chip pancakes on two occasions . Definitely put on weight but was totally worth it.

Seemed to take so many pictures of the CN tower it's such a focal point your eyes are constantly drawn to it . Caught this image leaving the city in our Lincoln Navigator.

The drive out to Niagara took just over an hour and a half and I wasn't sure what to expect having only seen pictures before but it really did take my breath away.

The speed the water flows is so fast it really is beautiful and scary all at once .

Was even lucky enough to see the end of a rainbow .

The town it self is very touristy , lots of amusements , museums and wax works.
We went for lunch overlooking the falls which was stunning .

After an afternoon of being a tourist and having some fun playing mini golf (which obviously I won at ) we went for dinner at a little Italian where I was able to taste the wine from the local region which was delicious , this made me excited for the next day as we planned to visit some of the wineries at Niagara on the lake .

DAY 4

A bright early start, but sadly the beautiful sunshine from the previous day was nowhere to be seen, we carried on regardless and headed over to Niagara on the Lake to visit some of the wineries and do some tasting. We visited some of the smaller wineries and also the larger ones . Even picked up a few bottles whilst we were there .

These were three of my favourites . Rancourt, Reif Estate and Stratus , just glad I wasn't the designated driver :).

On returning to the city I was told we would be "hitting up" some of the coolest hotspots in the city and heading over to yorkville .

I love getting dressed up as those of you who follow my Instagram will know. This evening I wore jeans and a blazer from J.lindeberg , a shirt from Dolce and Gabbana , a waistcoat (vest as Canadians call it) from Kenneth Cole and my favourite double monk shoes from Magnanni . We went for dinner at Cafe Nervosa which I'm told is very well know before heading on for drinks at king street.

A great end to another two fantastic days. In my next blog I'll talk about the last few days of my trip , hopefully won't take me aslong to write it for you guys either . Thanks for reading and you can follow me on twitter @styledgentleman and instagram @stylishgentleman .
